1. What is the process for changing the name/address/details in Aadhar card?

You may visit the nearest enrolment center or do the necessary Updation online using the URL: http://portal.uidai.gov.in/

3. How much time will take to make Aadhar Card?

It takes a minimum of 40 days from the day of enrolment.

4. Can I enrol for Aadhaar second time, if my enrolment has been rejected?

Yes, in case the Aadhaar is rejected, the resident needs to re-enroll.

5. I had updated the details in my Aadhaar. Have the details been updated?

It takes a minimum of 40 days from the day of Updation. The resident can check the same on http://portal.uidai.gov.in/ .

6. Where can I get a printout of eAadhaar?

You can visit the nearest Lok Mitra Kendra or can get the same online http://portal.uidai.gov.in/

7. Is eAadhaar as good as Aadhaar received by post?

Yes, eAadhaar is as good as Aadhaar received by post.

9. Is Aadhaar mandatory for the new ration card?

It is advisable to mention your Aadhaar number while applying for a new ration card.

10. I have not enrolled for Aadhaar. What do I do?

You may immediately enroll for Aadhaar at the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre.

11. I have enrolled for Aadhaar, but I have not received my Aadhaar number. What do I do?

You may find out your Aadhaar number by checking for your e-Aadhaar, or by calling us. You may also enter your Enrollment ID to register for your ration card.

12. I have lost my Aadhaar number. What do I do?

Please call us with your details and we shall tell you your Aadhaar number. You may also give your Aadhaar Enrollment ID instead.

13. Why do I need to give Aadhaar number in the new ration card?

Mentioning Aadhaar number is advisable for getting the new ration card. Aadhaar enables us to ensure that there is only one ration card issued in the name of one person. This ensures that the benefits of the PDS is not diverted by people who don’t need it.

14. Who should the resident approach in case a bank account has not been opened despite giving his/her consent?

The resident should first contact the AADHAAR contact centre and ensure that his/her details have been forwarded to the bank concerned. Once this has been done, the resident should approach the respective bank if he/she still faces any issues.

15. Who should the resident approach in case he/she faces any issues with an AADHAAR enabled bank account?

The resident should approach the bank concerned and not the AADHAAR contact centre.

16. What can the Resident do if there are spelling mistakes / other demographic error in his/her Aadhaar letter?

During enrolment, even when the data is entered, the resident can see the data entry and is expected to point out errors at this stage. Prior to finalization and printing of the Enrolment Acknowledgment, one more opportunity is presented to make corrections.
In the event that both opportunities are missed, the demographic correction may be carried out by visiting the enrolment centre within 48 hours of time of enrolment carrying the relevant documents and enrolment slip.

17. How will children be captured in the database?

For children below 5 years no biometrics will be captured. Their UID be processed on the basis of demographic information and facial photograph linked with the UID of their parents. These children will need to be re-enrolled with biometrics of ten fingers, iris and facial photograph, when they turn 5. Their biometrics will be updated once they turn 15. Intimation to this effect will be mentioned in the original Aadhaar letter
